Stamp Set Roulette with Kara

If you're starting out the new year searching for you stamping mojo, you're not alone! I think it's quite a common feeling. I know for me, after cleaning up all of the Christmas sets from my desk I sat down to create feeling like, "What now?" Whenever I feel like this I play a little game with myself that I like to call Stamp Set Roulette! It always does the trick and maybe it will help you too!

The rules are simple: Don't look, choose two stamp sets, make it work! You can add in any other supplies you like, but your project must use the two stamp sets selected. I love the challenge and it often gets me thinking of other stamps and dies that would work with the design. If you're super organized, like me, have someone else choose the sets for you so it's a true surprise. My husband choose for me and he picked Quilt Prints and Happy Wishes. Not too hard to make work together and I am in love with the results, but without this game I wouldn't have thought to pull these two sets out!

I started by die cutting tons of flowers with the Happy Wishes Dies. Next task was to pick a color scheme. I chose Hayride, Flamingo, Miami Spice and Mojito. After stamping out all of my flowers and leaves I die cut a window using the Love Mom Layers Die. Using Quilt Prints, I stamped a pattern behind the window. I knew I wanted to place the flowers around the circle window and that's when I thought of using this adorable fox from the Bountiful Blooms Dies. I die cut him in white cardstock and added color to him using a sponge dauber and Warm Wool ink. For the sentiment I die cut 'hello' several times in white, layered them up ;and added some Flamingo ink. The secondary sentiment is from Happy Wishes and is stamped in Coconut Husk ink like the Quilt Prints background. You can find all of the supplies I used linked at the bottom of this post.

If you're feeling stuck I hope you'll give my Stamp Set Roulette a try. Let me know if you do! I had enough left over die cuts to create a second card. Come check it out.
