VIDEO: Modern and Graphic Holiday Cards with Dawn

I finally squeezed in some time to do another video! And of course, wouldn't you know...I need a manicure again. Oh well, it is what it is!

Hopefully today's plethora of cards will make up for it. I've got a ton to share, so settle in.

I've settled on my holiday cards this year and I love that they are easy to mass produce and that I can add a little sumpin' sumpin' extra to them if I have time.

I've chosen a few different color schemes of the same design for several different looks. In the above cards, I paired our Dove Grey Cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Candied Apple. I love the classic Christmas look these have.

In the cards below, I chose to go with a more rustic combo of Kraft Cardstock and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Cracked Pistachio.

The Alpha Whimsy stamp set is the star of the show here. And although it isn't a "holiday" stamp set, by adding in the images from Holiday Trimmings, it does the job perfectly!

I mounted the letters for my design onto the Mini MISTI stamping tool and replaced the "O"s and "A" with images from Holiday Trimmings. I stamped them in Wplus9 White Pigment Ink onto several different neutral colored cardstocks. I then shifted the panels slightly up and to the right and stamped again using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink.

To kick it up a bit, I chose to add a few heat embossed details. I selected a few different metallics and glitters depending on the individual card colors. In the above card, I just had to contrast the rustic Kraft cardstock with some icy WOW! Metallic Platinum Sparkle embossing powder.

The next set of cards feature a classy combo of Coal Mine Cardstock and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Cracked Pistachio and Salty Ocean.

I even loved the combo of Dove Grey Cardstock, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Salty Ocean, silver and white.

As I mentioned in the video, these are great for mass production. This set of 12 or so took an hour to do while filming. And, there are several different phrases that you could try - Holiday Cheer, Let It Snow, Ho, Ho, Ho, Fa La La La La, Warm Wishes - just to name a few.

My favorite from the bunch keeps changing, I lean towards the dark ones, but then again, that Kraft and Green w/Silver really speaks to me too! Which one is your favorite?

I hope you've enjoyed today's post, thanks for stopping by!

  1. I LOVE the Salty Ocean and Cracked Pistacio on the Coal Mine card stock! I think you have now sold me on the Distressed Oxide inks. I have not bought any of them. I like doing the ink blending with the regular Distress inks. But now that I see what you did with the white ink and the Distress Oxide, I think I need to get a few colors now! Thank you for the inspiration. I do have a question. Are you releasing new stamps the remainder of the year?
